Tibetan Peace Celebration
10th December as you are aware is celebrated as Human Right Day as well as conferment of Noble Peace prize to His Holiness the Dalai Lama. We celebrate this day as the conferment of Noble Peace Prize since 1989. This year is the 29th conferment of Noble Peace Prize to His Holiness the Dalai Lama. The day is a gazetted holiday day and our school actively participate in the celebration in the public celebration at the main temple of His Holiness the Dalai Lama. Central Tibetan Administration civil staff completing 25 years of service are publicly honored. We also have guest of honor from Indian Parliament. This year we had a team of Human Right Committee executive  members from Congo.

After formal speeches from our government there are series of cultural performances. This year our teaching staff took part for the performance as we do not want to disturb our students because of their upcoming annual examination. I have uploaded the performance by our staff.

DHARAMSHALA, Dec. 10: Tibetans in Dharamshala braved the dipping temperature to celebrate the 29th anniversary of the conferment of Nobel Peace Prize upon His Holiness the Dalai Lama in 1989.

The official function of the Central Tibetan Administration at Tsuglagkhang courtyard saw Rajya Sabha MP Pradeep Tamta presiding as the chief guest. Andrea Papus Ngombet Malewa, the president of Global Coordinator attended as a special guest.

The day, also observed as World Human Rights Day, marks the 70th anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UDHR).

Besides the official celebrations, the day saw some new enterprises starting operation today.

A futsal ground called Tokyi Futsal was opened near Norbulingka by the proprietors of Nicks café, Mcleod Ganj. Tenzin Kunsang, the young man behind the idea said: “Since there are a lot of Tibetans interested in football, a futsal would engage them in a good way.”

Tenzin Migmar, a young Tibetan professional dancer, opened a fitness and dance studio called ’Upside Down’ on Jogiwara road. The studio announced B-boying, Zumba and other dance forms.

Tibetan Institute of Performing Arts (TIPA) released its 2018 Yarkyi album while Men-Tsee-Khang (Tibetan Medical and Astrological Institute) conducted a free medical camp. Students for a Free Tibet (SFT) carried out a sticky note writing activity to engage the public about the human rights situation inside Tibet.
